New Line lights up ‘Inferno’

Cop-turned-crook pic to be overseen by Emmerich

New Line Cinema has bought David Jung and Steve Dandois’ action thriller “Inferno” for Karz Entertainment to produce.

Story follows a betrayed narcotics officer who resurrects himself as a gang lord to exact revenge.

Karz’s Russell Hollander brought the script into the studio. Mike Karz will produce the film, with Hollander and Chris Smith serving as the film’s executive producers.

New Line president of production Toby Emmerich will oversee the project along with New Line execs Kent Alterman, Michelle Weiss and Keith Goldberg.

Jung and Dandois are also writing the action adventure “Solomon Kane” for Samuel Hadida’s Metropolitan Films.
