Pair of laffers are on distrib's horizon

Bob Cooper’s Landscape Entertainment has set up two comedies at New Line Cinema: “Man in Uniform” and “Lowest Common Denominator.”

“Uniform” is the story of a man whose life takes a turn when his daily role in society becomes much more meaningful than he could ever have imagined.

Michael Galvin & Peter Speakman (“Your Word Against Mine”) wrote the script. Cooper will produce, with senior VP Karen Lunder executive producing. Lunder will oversee the project along with New Line’s Richard Brener, Cale Boyter and Magnus Kim.

In “Lowest Common Denominator,” a marketing consultant seeks a teen who will help her predict what’s hot; she finds her perfect specimen in a man who lives in his parents’ basement. Larry Doyle (“The Simpsons”) penned the screenplay.

Cooper will produce that pic with Chuck Weinstock. Lunder will exec produce, and New Line’s Kent Alterman, Michele Weiss and Keith Goldberg will oversee the project for the studio.

Landscape Entertainment recently reupped its first-look production deal with New Line, where it has set up eight projects over the last eight months.
