Independent film veteran Steven Menkin has joined City Lights Media Group as VP of production. He will manage feature production at City Lights Pictures and bring in new talent and projects to the Gotham-based film and television stable.
Menkin was VP of film for anime and manga distribution unit Tokyopop until recently. Feature producing credits include Fox release “Only the Strong,” “The Sticky Fingers of Time” and Good Machine’s “Love God,” exec produced by James Schamus and Ted Hope.
Founded 21 years ago by brothers Danny, Jack and Joe Fisher, City Lights Media Group specializes in film, television, video and commercial production. It also runs New York’s largest Avid editing facility.
Company recently completed John Waters’ “A Dirty Shame” with Killer Films and This Is That for Fine Line, and it is in pre-production on supernatural thriller “Tamara” from “Final Destination” creator Jeffrey Reddick.
City Lights Television just wrapped “Spread” for VH1 and is in production on two series, AMC’s “FilmFakers,” premiering in October, and Discovery Kids reality series “One Shot,” slated to air next year on NBC.
