Shirley MacLaine will portray the grandmother of Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette in Curtis Hanson’s “In Her Shoes.” Mark Feuerstein also is expected to join the cast as Collette’s love interest. The Fox 2000 pic begins production Sunday.
Adapted by Susannah Grant from the novel by Jennifer Weiner, “In Her Shoes” is the story of three women: a straitlaced attorney (Collette), her underemployed party girl of a sister (Diaz) and the grandmother neither of them has ever known.
Scott Free’s Ridley Scott and Lisa Ellzey will produce with Hanson and Carol Fenelon’s Deuce Three Prods.
MacLaine, who will be seen later this year opposite Julia Stiles in Miramax Films’ “Carolina,” Is repped by ICM.
Feuerstein stars in NBC sitcom “Good Morning, Miami.” His feature credits include “What Women Want,” “Rules of Engagement” and “Abandon.”
