Prolific Spanish production-distribution outfit Lolafilms will receive a retrospective of nine of its films at the American Museum of the Moving Image April 30-May 9.
The U.S. preem of Penelope Cruz starrer “Girl of Your Dreams” will open the series April 30. The film picked up seven Goya awards, including best film and best actress for Cruz.
Producer Andres Vincente Gomez will introduce the pic at the Directors Guild of America Theater.
“Le Comunidad,” Alex de la Iglesia’s gothic comedy starring Carmen Maura, also will screen, as will Gerard Vera’s gay drama “Second Skin,” starring Javier Bardem.
“Goya in Bordeaux,” a collaboration between helmer Carlos Saura and cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, will also be featured in the retrospective.
