Motion Picture Television Fund chair riding high
DreamWorks partner Jeffrey Katzenberg will be honored with a special excellence in filmmaking award at this year’s Cinema Expo Intl. in Amsterdam.
DreamWorks is riding high with “Shrek 2,” which grossed nearly $130 million in its first five days of release.
Also planned for release this year are “The Terminal,” “Anchorman” and “Shark Tale.”
Katzenberg is chairman of the Motion Picture Television Fund and serves on the boards of AIDS Project Los Angeles, the American Museum of the Moving Image, California Institute of the Arts, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Foundation of the Motion Picture Pioneers, Geffen Playhouse and the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
He is co-chairman of the creative rights committee of the Directors Guild of America and the committee on the professional status of writers of the Writers Guild of America.
