‘Human’ rights for Renaissance

World Brief

U.K. financing and sales outfit Renaissance Films has taken worldwide rights outside Spain, Argentina and Portugal to comedy “Seres queridos” (Only Human).

Produced by Spain’s Tornasol Films and U.K.’s Greenpoint Films, pic is the first Spanish-lingo pic to get U.K. Film Council coin.

“Human” is the theatrical debut of Spaniard Teresa de Pelegri and Brit Dominic Harari, who together penned the screenplay for Joaquin Oristrell’s upcoming mystery “Inconscientes.”

In “Human,” a Jewish TV presenter (Marian Aguilera, “The Reckoning”) takes her Palestinian boyfriend (Guillermo Toledo, “The Other Side of the Bed”) to meet the family.

Co-produced by Paolo Branco’s Madragoa Producao de Filmes in Portugal and Argentina’s Patagonik Film Group and associate produced by the U.K. Film Council’s Robert Jones, “Human” will be screened at Cannes.
