Digidesign to receive Oscar for creation of ProTools
HOLLYWOOD — Thesp Jennifer Garner will present the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Scientific & Technical kudos Feb. 14 at the Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel in Pasadena.
Eleven awards will be presented at the black-tie gala.
Digidesign will receive an Oscar for creation and development of the ProTools digital audio workstation.
Bill Tondreau of Kuper Controls will receive an Oscar statuette for his advancements in robotic camera systems. As a result of his work, motion control has become an integral part of the field of visual effects.
Peter D. Parks receives the Gordon E. Sawyer Award for his lifetime of technological contributions to the industry.
Garner will appear on the Feb. 29 kudocast to present taped highlights from the Sci-Tech Oscar presentation.
