Danish regional film center Filmby Arhus has landed its first feature film production, Danish director Jannik Johansen’s “Morke,” which will shoot this fall.
The $2.9 million movie will star Jakob Cedergreen, who played the lead in Johansen’s “Stealing Rembrandt,” which took in 280,000 admissions domestically. This time he goes from Copenhagen to the village of Morke to investigate the alleged suicide of his handicapped sister.
The film will be produced by Fine & Mellow Prods.’ Thomas Gammeltoft. Gammeltoft and directors Johansen and Hella Joof are partners in the shingle, which is backed by Nordisk Film Production.
