Ferguson to host Britannia Awards

Hanks, Mirren, Sheridan to be feted at event

HOLLYWOOD — Thesp Craig Ferguson (“The Drew Carey Show”) will host the British Academy of Film & Television Arts/Los Angeles’ 13th Britannia Awards Nov. 4 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

As previously announced, Tom Hanks will receive the award for excellence in film, with Meg Ryan as a presenter; Helen Mirren will receive the honor for artistic excellence ininternational entertainment, with Michael Caine as a presenter; and writer-director-producer Jim Sheridan will receive the award for artistic excellence, with Djimon Hounsou (“In America”) as a presenter.

Ferguson will next be seen in DreamWorks-Paramount’s “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.”
