Teuton DVD distributor E-M-S opened an office in Los Angeles Feb. 1 to review acquisition offers and select titles for domestic distribution.

The office is headed by Juergen Hellwig, a former acquisitions exec at the now defunct Kirch Media.

The Dortmund-based E-M-S, which is releasing Charlize Theron-starrer “Monster” in April via its new 3L Filmverleih theatrical division, which launched last month, wants to strike up new partnerships Stateside.

Among its slate of upcoming titles are Korean Kim Sung-su’s “Musa” and “The Legend of Gingko” as well as Swedish titles “Old Men in New Cars” und “The Guy in the Grave next Door.”
