Kashner, wife Schoenberger to pen script
Dream Entertainment has optioned Sam Kashner’s Vanity Fair article “A First Class Affair,” which detailed the romance between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton during the filming of 1963 MGM pic “The V.I.P.s.”
Kashner and his wife, Nancy Schoenberger, will write the screenplay. The story ran in Vanity Fair’s June issue.
Dream principal Yitzhak Ginsberg negotiated for Dream Entertainment.
Kashner is a frequent Vanity Fair contributor; books include “Sinatraland” and “A Talent for Genius: The Life and Times of Oscar Levant,” which he co-wrote with Schoenberger.
Upcoming for Kashner is “When I Was Cool: My Life at the Jack Kerouac School.”
Schoenberger won the Devins Award for her book of poetry “The Girl on a White Porch.” She is an associate professor of creative writing at the College of William and Mary and most recently wrote “Dangerous Muse: The Life of Caroline Blackwood.”
