Diverse slate for DWF fest

Docs, shorts programmed

Dances With Films has announced the slate for its 2004 sprocket opera. Set to take place June 10-16, fest will feature more than 90 films, all from unknown filmmakers.

Fest’s diverse lineup includes docus “Between the White Lines,” about the UCLA Bruins women’s softball team as it defends its national crown, and “Rats and Bullies,” which chronicles the suicide of 14-year-old Dawn Marie Wesley. Shorts are slated as well — “The Truth Behind Bennifer” clocks in at one minute.

In the past six years, two short-subject films featured at the DWF fest have gone on to garner Oscar nominations.
