Digital Cinema Society forms at NAB

Nonprofit org aims to educate entertainment industry

LAS VEGAS — The Digital Cinema Society will announce its formation at a NAB mixer sponsored by the Las Vegas Nevada Chapter of Women in Film on Tuesday.

Founded by cinematographer James Mathers and Digital Cinema Magazine editor/associate publisher Brian McKernan, the Digital Cinema Society is a nonprofit org dedicated to the education of the entertainment industry about digital motion picture production, post, delivery and exhibition.

The Vegas chapter of WIF recently passed its one-year anniversary and in celebration of that milestone is holding its first mixer. The event is skedded for Caesars Palace from 6-9 p.m. in the fourth-floor Emperor’s Ballroom. A $10 donation will be requested at the door.
