Cinema guild shows ‘Fear’

Testud stars in pic based on Nothcomb novel

The Cinema Guild has acquired U.S. distribution rights to French helmer Alain Corneau’s dark comedy “Fear and Trembling.”

Film, based on Amelie Nothomb’s novel of the same name, stars Sylvie Testud, who won a French Cesar this year for her perf.

“Fear and Trembling” follows a young French woman who returns to Japan, where she was born, and is besieged by the intensity of the business culture.

The Cinema Guild distributes foreign, indie and docs, including upcoming release “The Inheritance. “
