Maria Bello and John Leguizamo are circling roles in “Assault on Precinct 13,” the Focus Features remake of John Carpenter’s 1976 thriller. Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne star.
“Sopranos” thesp Drea de Matteo has been added to the cast.
Jean-Francois Richet is helming the Liaisons Films and Outlaw Pictures’ co-production, written by James DeMonaco.
Pic, which goes before cameras April 4 in Toronto, will be produced by Pascal Caucheteux, Stephane Sperry and Jeffrey Silver; Don Carmody, Sebastian Lemercier and Joseph Kaufman are the exec producers.
Bello, who nabbed a SAG nomination this year for “The Cooler,” co-stars in Sony’s “Secret Window,” which bows Friday.
Leguizamo, who will reprise the voice of Sid for “Ice Age 2,” next toplines the feature “Sueno.” He will also star in the Spanish lingo pic “Cronicas,” produced by Alfonso Cuaron.
Matteo, whose film credits include Artisan’s “Prey for Rock & Roll,” directed by Alex Steyermark, is set for a role in Steyermark’s second feature, “West Memphis Three,” which will lense later this year.
