Actress Fanny Ardant will preside over the 29th Cesar awards ceremony, France’s equivalent of the Academy Awards, in Paris Feb. 21, organizers said Monday.
Jean-Paul Rappeneau’s “Bon Voyage” is the movie with the most nominations this year, 11, followed by Alain Resnais’ “Not on the Lips,” with nine.
The show will be produced and broadcast live in France by Canal Plus.
Ardant succeeds Nathalie Baye as prexy of the ceremony. Currently seen on French screens in Anne Fontaine’s “Nathalie,” Ardant won an actress Cesar in 1997 for her role in Gabriel Aghion’s “Pedale Douce” (What a Drag).
