Arclight opens Toronto office

Expanding company also hires exec in charge

Arclight Films has opened a Toronto office and tapped sales executive Lina Marrone to run it.

Marrone started working on a consultancy basis with Arclight at Mifed last year.

Her appointment reflects the high volume of films and sales at Arclight, whose slate includes Nicolas Cage-starrer “Lord of War,” “Matador” with Pierce Brosnan, Michael Radford’s “Merchant of Venice” with Al Pacino, Benny Chan’s “New Police Story,” “Strange Bedfellows” with Paul Hogan, which made $3.3 million in its first 17 days, and Thai pic “Beautiful Boxer,” a hit in Singapore.

Marrone has a long and broad experience handling different types of films, having worked for Norstar Films, Spain’s Lolafilms, Behavior and Malo Films, and driven the sales on breakout title “Mambo Italiano.”
