Baker pens adaptation, McCann to direct

Tim McCann (“Revolution #9″) will helm “Angel on My Shoulder,” a remake of the 1946 classic for indie banner T.H.E.M.E. Entertainment.

Original pic, which starred Paul Muni, Anne Baxter and Claude Rains, tells the tale of a mobster sent to Hell who is given a few more days on Earth by the Devil to try and redeem himself.

Todd Baker penned the “Angel” adaptation and will produce. Pic is eyeing a summer start in Gotham.

UA rolled out the 1946 film, helmed by Archie Mayo. “Angel” was later remade as a 1980 telepic starring Richard Kiley, Peter Strauss and Barbara Hershey.

Attorney Greg Bernstein is serving as sales rep.
