U.S. rights to ‘Ecstasy’ sold to LG

Supernatural film directed by Scarpone

Lions Gate Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Dream Entertainment’s vampire thriller “Immortal Ecstasy.”

Pic, which stars newcomers Janet Martin, Delpano Wills, Joe King and Megan Ubach, was directed by TV vet Desi Scarpone, who produced pic with Susan Rodgers.

Pic centers on a suburban American family preparing for their slumlord father’s birthday party. As the party approaches and the father attempts to evict squatters from one of his buildings, he realizes there is nothing ordinary about the intruders, who send the landlord home to infect the rest of the family.

“We’re thrilled with the sale of ‘Immortal Ecstasy’ to Lions Gate Films,” said Ehud Bleiberg, Dream’s chairman-CEO. “Having a U.S. distributor of this caliber proves once again that in today’s market both domestic and international, a good vampire film will get noticed.”
