Stoner caper lands at Park

Scam laffer won feature kudos at New York Film Fleadh

Park Entertainment has picked up international distribution rights to comedy caper “Headrush,” written and directed by Shimmy Marcus.

Pic, which won the feature prize at the New York Film Fleadh, was produced by Zanzibar Films and stars Steven Berkoff, Gavin Kelty, Laura Pyper and Wuzza Conlon (aka MC Wuzza).

“Headrush” is a wild comedy about two stoners who hope to solve their problems by working for an underworld criminal, the Uncle, but an elaborate scam to smuggle cocaine back from Amsterdam goes awry.

At Cannes, Park also is selling live-action family pic “Goose!” and “The Purifiers,” about a new type of gang that takes over the U.K.’s violent inner cities, written and directed by Richard Jobson.
