ShowEast will honor Herman Stone, president and CEO of Consolidated Theaters, with the group’s Show “E” award Oct. 28 during the 20th anniversary edition of the program at Florida’s Orlando World Center Marriott.
Stone began with Consolidated Theaters in 1965. During his 25 years there he handled new theater development, booking and film buying and Eastern District management. He took on the role of president in 1986 and worked to expand the chain, creating Consolidated Theaters Inc. in 1990. Stone has served as regional president of the National Assn. of Theater Owners, a board member for the Cultural Heritage Assn. and a member of the North Carolina Film Council. He was named statesman of the year at the 2003 ShowSouth conference.
Previous winners of the Show “E” award include Columbia’s Jeff Blake, Universal’s Nick Carpou, Touchstone’s Chuck Viane and Disney’s Phil Barlow.
