Reese Witherspoon has signed on to star in and produce “Manhattan Baby,” the Dimension Films romantic comedy that was scripted by Anya Kochoff.
Kochoff, the “Monster In Law” scribe who recently made a multi-picture deal with Dimension, is also producing.
In “Manhattan Baby,” Witherspoon will play a career-driven, single woman who puts her personal life on hold to become a Gotham-based mogul who operates groups for tots and their moms. Witherspoon will produce through her Type A shingle.
“Being a young parent herself with a wildly successful career, she is ideal to help us make a movie about how to balance parenting and family with a career,” said Dimension co-chairman Bob Weinstein.
Kochoff made her Dimension writing deal off of “Monster In Law,” the Robert Luketic-directed comedy that stars Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda. Kochoff is also scripting the Dimension comedy “Girls Gone Crazy.”
Kochoff and Josie Rosen will be producers of both Dimension comedies, which are overseen by Dimension co-presidents Andrew Rona and Brad Weston.
