‘Moon’ rises at fest

Juan Jose Campanella’s “Luna de Avellaneda” (Avellaneda’s Moon), his follow-up to “El hijo de la novia” (The Son of the Bride), will open the 49th Valladolid Intl. Film Festival.

Spain’s premiere art pic fest, Valladolid will include a tribute to Israeli helmer Amos Gitai and Basque-born Spanish director Imanol Uribe, panoramas of Chinese film and the output of Moscow film school VGIK, a retro of Swiss production and a Docs in Europe focus.

Event will run Oct. 22-30.
