Avi Lerner’s Millennium Films has reupped its 10-picture production deal with Randall Emmett and George Furla’s Emmett/Furla Films.
The first title greenlit under the new deal is action thriller “The Contract,” slated to begin production this summer. Stephen Katz and John Darrouzet wrote the script.
As with the previous arrangement, which has been renewed once before, deal is a nonexclusive one that provides Emmett/Furla production financing, with foreign distribution through Millennium’s Nu Image.
The first deal was made in 2001. Budgets for the third 10-picture slate are expected to be between $15 million and $45 million.
Emmett/Furla has produced 12 projects with Millennium over the last four years. They are in production on the $25 million cop drama “Edison,” starring Morgan Freeman, LL Cool J, Justin Timberlake and Kevin Spacey. David Burke directs.
