‘Machuca’ makes its move

Pic sold to 9 territories, co. also inks deals for 7 others

Spanish sales company Latido has closed a bevy of deals on Chilean Andres Wood’s Directors Fortnight closer, “Machuca.”

Ocean Films has taken France, CNC for Belgium, Xenix for Switzerland, Lady Film in Italy, Medial in Greece, Shani for Israel, Circuito Cinearte for Brazil, Chantier in Turkey and Comstock, Japan.

Circuito Cinearte and Chantier also have picked up Vision Intl.’s “Strange Crimes,” which is sold by Latido’s head of sales Massimo Saidel.

Russia’s Soyuz has taken four Latido titles: “The Art of Losing,” “Your Next Life,” “Cleopatra” and toon pic “Mercenary.”

Vision Intl. has licensed hot-selling Chilean pic “Debutants” to the U.K.’s Revolver.

Saidel has initiated sales on Argentine kid pic “Patorucito” (The Great Treasure Hunt of Patagonic and Dorito) to Italy’s Essedi and Victory in Benelux.
