Thurkettle penned contempo take on 'King Lear'

Lev L. Spiro will make his feature-directing bow with the teen comedy “Queen Lara.” Pic is set to start principal photography on June 28.

Nicholas Thurkettle penned the contempo adaptation of Shakespeare’s “King Lear.” David O. Sacks will produce through his shingle Room 9 Entertainment. Exec producers are J. Todd Harris and Marc Toberoff.

Craig Davis Roth will co-produce, with Room 9’s Daniel Brunt and Michael R. Newman associate producing.
