Korean pic makes a record pre-sale

Mirovision has sold Ahn Byung-ki’s “Bunshinsaba” (Ouija Board) to Japanese distrib Happinet Pics.

Sold at synopsis stage for $3 million, it’s the highest pre-sale price for a Korean film, Mirovision said. The “Ouija” sale rolls off a swath of deals for Ahn’s prior film, “Phone.”

The first production of Buena Vista Intl. Korea, pic produced upbeat B.O. in Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. It also sold to Italy (Eagle) and the U.K.
