French-lingo pic slated for Sundance

Samuel Goldwyn Films has picked up North American rights to “Lila Says,” Lebanese-born helmer Ziad Doueiri’s latest feature.

French-lingo pic is a World Cinema entry at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. It debuted at Toronto this year.

Marseilles-set “Lila” explores the sexually charged flirtation between two teens when a beautiful blonde girl relocates to a predominantly Arabic neighborhood.

French, British and Italian co-production stars Vahina Giacante, Mohammed Khouas and Karim Benhadou. Marina Gefter produced.

Peter Goldwyn brokered the pact with Eric Lagesse of the international sales unit Pyramide Intl.

Goldwyn is eyeing a summer release.
