First Look, Think link on ‘September’

Portrait of war-torn country to bow domestically in August

First Look Media has partnered with ThinkFilm to handle U.S. theatrical release of Christian Johnston’s “September Tapes,” which looks inside post-Taliban Afghanistan.

Pic is skedded to be released domestically under the First Look Pictures banner in August followed by a DVD release in November.

Think and First Look will collaborate on the marketing and distribution plan, with Think handling theatrical bookings. First Look Intl. will sell foreign rights to pic at Cannes.

Pic takes a look behind the scenes of war-torn Afghanistan where doc filmmaker Don Larson traveled to the country six months after 9/11 and followed a bounty hunter on the trail of Osama bin Laden. Pic is the first Western film shot in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban.
