D’Works rife with ‘Wife’

Reiss script described as a married man's 'Risky Business'

DreamWorks has bought comedy script “The Wife’s Away” by scribe Mike Reiss in a low six-figure deal.

Described as a “married man’s ‘Risky Business,’ ” story is about a bored husband who gets more than he bargained for when his wife leaves him alone for the weekend.

A producer has not yet been attached to the project.

A producer on “The Simpsons,” Reiss recently sold comedy script “Fat Man” to Sony, where it is being developed as a vehicle for Adam Sandler. He is also writing the script for “The Simpsons” feature at Fox.
