Coin set for Marketing’s pic slate

Co. eyes Brit-qualifying projects

Marketing Systems’ head of development, Alan Balladur, announced that the firm has funded its 20-film development slate from its first development fund.

Projects include scripts by “Calcium Kid” scribes Raymond Friel and Derek Boyle, as well as new projects from Mike Bassett, Tim Connery and Frank Rickarby.

Balladur said, “Producers with U.K.-qualifying projects are the focus of our efforts, which all revolve around a privately funded initiative to help writers take their scripts to the next level and to interface with potential producers.”

Firm’s plans include a series of development labs at the Chateau de l’Isle Marie in Normandy.
