Caviezel draws on comic

Film expected to become an adventure series

Jim Caviezel will play the lead role in “M,” a $35 million adaptation of a bestselling French comic book written and to be directed by Gallic helmer James Huth.

Production is scheduled to start in August in London and Montreal. Pic is being co-produced by the U.K.’s Spice Factory and Movision, Canada’s Transfilm and France’s Telema.

“M” is intended to be the first of a series of films based on the comic books. “It has great entertainment potential. It will be an Indiana Jones-meets-Sherlock Holmes type pic,” said Spice Factory’s Jason Piette and Michael Cowan.

International sales are being handled by Arclight.
