Cinema fund goes int'l

The U.K. Film Council’s New Cinema Fund has invested $483,000 in “The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes,” the Quay brothers pic that starts shooting next month.

The fund also is putting $309,000 into Stephen Silver’s doc “Diameter of the Bomb,” tracing the impact of a suicide bombing in Jerusalem on 10 ordinary people’s lives. Redbus has the U.K. rights.

Two French-language movies also are receiving coin from the fund, Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s “Innocence” and Ziad Doueiri’s “Lila dit ca.”
