Koch Lorber Films has picked up all domestic rights to helmer Eran Riklis’ feature “The Syrian Bride.”
Distrib is planning a midyear release in 2005 as “Bride” walks the aisles of various upcoming festivals. Pic already has screened at the Montreal Film Festival, where it won the fest’s grand prize and top aud kudos, as well as overseas fests in Locarno, Switzerland, and Ghent, Belgium.
“Bride,” a French-German-Israeli co-production, centers on a woman living in Israeli-occupied Golan Heights who commits to marrying a Syrian TV star, but after she crosses into Syria will never be able to return home again.

Riklis produced and penned the screenplay with Suha Arraf.
