Duties included building brand awareness for shingle
NEW YORK — IFC Films has tapped Ronald Tsuruda to head its marketing division as senior veep of marketing.
Gotham-based exec recently ankled Universal specialty arm Focus Features, where as senior veep of advertising he oversaw marketing strategies for films including “Gosford Park,” “Monsoon Wedding,” “Traffic,” “The Pianist,” “Being John Malkovich” and “Nurse Betty.”
Also at Focus, Tsuruda’s duties included building brand awareness for the shingle.
Tsuruda will oversee all aspects of marketing for IFC Films’ slate of theatrical releases.
Upcoming IFC pics include Rebecca Miller’s “The Ballad of Jack and Rose,” Dana Brown’s “Dust to Glory,” Aric Avelino’s “American Gun” and Michael Showalter’s “The Baxter.”
