'Lemony' leading pic pack in race for holiday coin

Mixing holiday business and Oscar-entry deadlines, studios will flood theaters with eight wide releases, matching the 2001 high. Today, three entries, led by ‘Lemony Snicket,’ will try to get a leg up before the Christmas onslaught.
