People’s Choice nods add 16 categories

Awards show piles on additional kudos

The people just got a lot more choices.

Sixteen categories have been added for the 31st annual People’s Choice Awards, up from the 24 that were announced in October.

Five films are nominated for favorite movie: “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Fahrenheit 9/11,” “The Incredibles,” “Shrek 2” and “Spider-Man 2.”

Some of the newly added film categories are favorite movie drama and comedy, onscreen chemistry and animated movie star.

Country musicians will not be left out this year with the addition of three musical categories: country group, country male singer and country female singer.

Proving celebrity is about more than just talent and charisma, the People’s Choice Awards has added hair, look and smile categories.

The kudofest will take place Jan. 9 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and will air on CBS.
