Music was in the air at the preem and after-party for “A Love Song for Bobby Long,” which doubled as a benefit for the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
Frank Mancuso, chairman of the fund’s board of directors, said $25 million had been raised for the charity in 2004. “I’m just one of many who volunteers their time,” he said. “We are part of a very caring community.”
At the Spago soiree following the film, revelers were treated to a performance by Theresa Andersson and Grayson Capps, who wrote much of the music in the film.
“The music is another character in the movie,” said “Bobby’s” Golden Globe-nommed star Scarlett Johansson as she introduced Capps to the crowd. “Plus he’s fucking awesome.”
Also in attendance were pic’s stars John Travolta, Gabriel Macht, Deborah Kara Unger, helmer-scribe Shainee Gabel and a surprisingly non-irate Jonathan Baker and Victoria Fuller from “The Amazing Race 6.”
