‘Aviator’ swoops home

Scorsese pic preem draws eclectic crowd

An A-list crowd that would have made mogul Howard Hughes proud landed in Gotham Tuesday night for the Big Apple preem of the Hughes biopic “The Aviator” at the Ziegfeld theater. Honchos Harvey Weinstein and Graham King and much of the cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett, turned out on helmer Martin Scorsese‘s home turf to support his latest high-flying effort. An after-party at appropriately swanky historic hotspot Guastavino’s showed off the epic’s eclectic appeal to old- and new-school Hollywood alike, drawing everyone from Robert Evans and Lauren Bacall to Jimmy Fallon, Rufus Wainwright and Q-Tip.
