Online shorts fest in works

NEW YORK — Indie producer and distributor Haydenfilms is launching an online short film festival aimed at giving filmmakers a chance to unveil works for industry pros.

The fest, partnered with the festival submission Web site service Withoutabox.com, is offering a $10,000 cash prize.

Entries are being accepted through May 15.

Films selected for the fest will screen online at Haydenfilms.com from Aug. 30-Oct. 30. Winners will be chosen by online film viewers, with prizes awarded in November.

Films submitted must be English-language or include English subtitles. Films may be up to 10 minutes in running time and can be edited sequences from longer works. All genres are eligible, including animation and documentary.

Founded in 2001 by Hayden Craddolph, the Haydenfilms banner is based in Lehigh Valley, Pa.
