Foxtel finds its subs surfacing

Foxtel’s March switch to digital attracted a sizable number of new subscribers and dramatically reduced churn, the company said Thursday.

Paybox co-owned by News Corp., Kerry Packer’s PBL and telco Telstra reported 310,000 orders for Foxtel Digital through June 30, including 91,000 new subs.

Foxtel reported an 8.3% jump in its managed-subs count to 904,000 for the year to June 30 and a 3.9% gain in total subs (including those sold via telco Optus) to 1.1 million.
