Singer-helmed pilot will pop up in periodicals

New Fox drama “House” will soon find a home in more than a million copies of TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly.

Net has arranged for a DVD containing the Bryan Singer-helmed “House” pilot to appear in copies of both mags later this week. More than 600,000 EW subscribers in the top 10 TV markets will get the disc with the Nov. 12 edition of the magazine, while just over 500,000 copies of the TV Guide issue that hits newsstands Thursday will contain the disc.

Putting DVDs in magazines is becoming a more common TV marketing tactic. The WB inserted the pilot for “Jack & Bobby” into issues of EW; Showtime recently did the same for its new skein “Huff.”

In addition to the DVD giveaway, Fox is also holding “House” screenings in 25 cities and making the show available on the in-flight channel of select JetBlue flights this month.
