World Brief

Norwegian fairy-tale character Askeladden, created by Asbjornsen & Moe, will star in a computer game developed by Norwegian production shingle Capricornus, which launched bestselling local title “Pinchcliff.”

The game received $150,000 in support from the Norwegian Film Fund at a board meeting Wednesday.

The fund also chipped in $1.2 million for Ove Raymond Gyldenas’ feature debut, high school comedy “Tommy’s Inferno.” A Friland Filmproduksjon production, it will be released domestically in August 2005 by Sandrew Metronome Norge.
