World Brief

Ivan Yuan has resigned from his post as general manager of News Corp.’s Star Taiwan.

A Star spokeswoman said Yuan left for “personal reasons.” There are no details of his future plans.

Steve Askew, chief operating officer of Star and the person to whom Yuan reported, will assume day-to-day operational responsibilities until an appointment is announced.

Before joining Star in 2001, Yuan was chairman and CEO of GoldFm Network, a radio venture company he founded. He founded KISS Radio in southern Taiwan in 1993.
