Two writers are suing the creator of the TV series “The O.C.,” claiming the idea for the show was theirs.
Scott Donnelly and Erik Lindsay said in their lawsuit they had an agreement with producer Josh Schwartz to develop a series called “The Pointes.”
But they said Schwartz went behind their backs to pitch “The O.C.,” a teen soap opera about a street kid from Chino who moves in with a wealthy family in their beachfront home. The two are seeking $10 million in damages.
The show’s first season has been a hit on Fox, and new episodes are expected to air in the fall.
