Dutch antipiracy org Brein is to bring “substantial” damage claims on behalf of rights owners against P2P users who upload music illegally.
“We are only targeting P2P users who are file-sharing, not downloaders,” said Brein director Tim Kuik. The Dutch Consumers Union fears the org may eventually target individual downloaders, however.
Brein is a privately funded joint antipiracy org that acts on behalf of authors, artists and producers of music, film and interactive software. Members include the Motion Picture Assn.
