NEW YORK — Court TV has tapped veteran publicist Jennifer Geisser as senior VP of corporate communications, succeeding Ellen Cooper.
Geisser spent the last eight years at Rainbow Media, where she rose from director of public relations for AMC to veep of PR for WE: Women’s Entertainment.
Cooper joined Court TV as senior VP of corporate communications in 2002 on a two-year contract after setting up her own PR shop following a number of years as head of PR for FX.
Cooper said she’d take some time off before seeking another job.
Henry Schleiff, chairman and CEO of Court TV, praised Cooper’s work at Court TV, saying that she helped ramp up the visibility of the network, which has grown from 72 million households to 80 million in the last two years.
Court TV also has chalked up more primetime viewers in the last year, delivering double-digit growth in total viewers, adults 18-34 and adults 18-49.
Before Rainbow, Geisser was a media-relations staffer at CBS Television, publicizing such shows as “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Nanny.” Earlier, she worked for the PR agencies Dan Klores & Associates and Solters Roskin Freedman.
