Driven in large part by sales of titles based on “Spider-Man 2” and “Shrek 2,” vidgame publisher Activision reported a 33% jump in revenue and nearly tripled its net income in the second quarter.
Company said the two movie licenses have already shipped a combined five million units.
Company reported $211.3 million in net revenue last quarter, the first on its fiscal calendar, and net income of $12 million.
For the fiscal year ending next March, company expects net revenue of $1.1 billion and earnings per diluted share of 69¢. It previously predicted 64¢ per share on net revenue of $1.05 billion.
Activision shares closed down six percent at $14.91 Thursday before earnings were announced.
