WNBC gives N.Y. to ‘Jane’

Skein to focus on unique, unusual stories in Tri-state Area.

To underscore its commitment to local programming, WNBC has greenlit series “Jane’s New York,” featuring local anchor Jane Hanson.

Hourlong series will focus on unique and unusual stories in the Tri-state Area.

Skein will debut Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. and air several times each quarter next year in both evening and day slots. First 2004 airdate will be Jan. 17.

“We’re going to show you places you don’t know about, spotlight the people you thought you knew and reveal the secrets that give New York its special cachet,” Hanson said.

WNBC’s programming department will produce the show. Station has also issued a call for submissions for possible story ideas.
